As you surf the net you will find offers that promise to provide you with a free Website. You are told that at no cost to you, you are accept as a distributor for the company and their products. Any sales that you generate from your site will result in commission checks. You can also recruit more people to start their free website and you will receive a commission from their sales as well.
Free, always sounds good, but is it really free? Oh yes, most of these companies do give you a free website. It is merely a replication of the company site which has your name or company name on the landing or capture page. Your challenge is to get visitors to come only to your website. The more distributors a company has the less likely it is for your page to be the one selected to purchase from, unless you have personal contact with those looking for your particular brand or service.
Now the reality of the cost of the free website begins to become evident. For example, you are now a distributor for this particular brand of diet pills. You have joined a group of probably more than 100 other websites selling the same brand of diet pills, with the same title on your website, except for your personal ID. Thus, when using any search engines for that brand name 100s of websites which look like they have the same name will be found. You may have added to your competition in the search engines by recruiting more people as distributors. The chances of your site being chosen are slim
to none unless there is something different about your website. Besides, research also shows that most people only look at the first 10, and in rare cases 20, of their search results.
For tracking purposes your site’s name is, for instance, http://www.diet.com/urID and if people only type in http://diet.com, they arrive at the company’s main website. A purchase here will not be credited to you, even though you have done the advertising. No financial benefits will come your way. One way to avoid this problem is by the purchase of your own domain name linking it to your website. Thus, you have a better advertising tool because you have made your site standout as different. but you also have more expense.
You may try writing articles for ezine pages on the internet about the benefits of this brand of diet pills. Ezines will allow a signature link that includes your web address, unfortunately, most free distribution articles are not picked up by the search engines, even with the right key
words. If you pay for distribution to a few hundred targeted, potential users you many increases your chances of a sale, while the cost for this may be small, it will need to be reoccurring if you hope for any type of success.
There are many places to advertise for free on the internet, but it can be very time consuming to find them and manually place ads on them. This can be an option for those who have more time than money. You may also want to explore social or attraction marketing on the web. So, remember, “Free” doesn’t always add up to being really free.
